Going into the invitational the Division 3 Crusaders were not highly thought of as contenders by most.  I believed we could make the cut.  The girls did not disappoint.  The came of the corner swinging posting 2 of their top 4 regular games including their best of the season to sit in 4th place behind the amazing bowling of Alyssa Ridder.  Alyssa decided to start the day with her high game of the season, a 222.  She decided to lead the team in both games with a 189 in the 2nd game.  This gave her a season high 411 series.  This eclipsed her previous high series by 61 pins.  Lauren Vander Maas chipped in with her 2nd highest series of the season.  She shot 162 - 187 for a 349 series.  The 187 was her high game for the season.  Madison Schrotenboer threw in her 3rd 177 on the season to give the girls their high regular game of the season at 844. 

The baker games did not start out well for girls.  They went 121 - 137 in the 1st 2 games to drop to 5th.  The 3rd baker was better.  Their 3rd highest of the season and only 3 pins down from their high.  Even with this good game, they dropped to 6th.  The 4th game was their best of the seaon, 180.  This topped their previous highj by 10 pins.  This put them back into 5th place 18 pins behind the 4th place Thornapple Kellogsville (Middleville) girls.  

Even though they did not make the cut, they gave us some of their best bowling of the season to date.  Not too bad for a D3 school versus the powerful D1's that were there.
