UC Varsity Softball opened up Pre-District play tonight in Saugatuck, taking on the Trailblazer’s of Saugatuck and winning in run rule fashion 11-1 in 5 innings. Allie Lubben was credited with the win, going 5 innings, allowing no earned runs and giving up only 6 hits. Unity bats were hot as they had 14 hits on the night, led by Tory Decker & Olivia Miller with 3, and Kaylee Vander Veen & Julia Bremer with 2 each. Olivia also hit her 5th home run on the season. The Crusaders will next be in action on Saturday, June 4th against Hamilton at 10:00am at Holland Christian High School.
