Unity Christian Crusaders Varsity had trouble keeping up with Hamilton in an 11-2 loss on Tuesday. In the first inning, Unity Christian Crusaders Varsity got their offense started. Unity Christian Crusaders Varsity scored two runs when Jared VanderZwaag singled. Hamilton pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Tyler Berkimer was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. Hamilton scored seven runs in the seventh inning. Brant Goodpastor, Austin Osborne, Thano Klett, James Hoffman, and Ryn Michalak each drove in runs during the inning. Klett pitched Hamilton to victory. The bulldog surrendered two runs on four hits over five innings, striking out 13. Goodpastor and Mason Blauwkamp entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. VanderZwaag took the loss for Unity Christian Crusaders Varsity. The lefthander surrendered six runs on four hits over six innings, striking out eight. Ben Hoekstra, VanderZwaag, Sean VanderZwaag, Owen Somero, and Jared Devries all had one hit to lead Unity Christian Crusaders Varsity. Hamilton totaled seven hits in the game. Landon VanderZwaag and Osborne all managed multiple hits for Hamilton.
