Unity Christian Crusaders Varsity ran off with the lead late in the game in a 9-6 victory over Oakridge on Friday night. The game was tied at six with Unity batting in the top of the ninth when Jake McNamara singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. 

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Unity Christian collected 20 hits and Oakridge nine in a high scoring affair. Oakridge knotted the game up at 6-6 in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Cribbins singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run. 

Ryan Broek led things off on the pitchers mound for Unity. The righty allowed five hits and three runs over four innings and one inning respectively. 

The highlight was the 20 hits by the Crusaders. Steven Hoeksema, Ayden Deboode, Mcnamara, Sam Beckham, Kyler Hinken and Seth buit all managed multiple hits. Deboode and Hoeksema led the Crusaders with 4 hits each on the day. 

Jake McNamara won the game on the mound and goes to 2-0 on the season as a pitcher.
