It was a challenging but valuable start of the season for the UCVB Freshmen team at the Forest Hills Central Quad as the girls took on Grand Rapids Christian, Forest Hills Central, and Hudsonville. The girls won their first match against Grand Rapids Christian despite losing the first game 22-25. In the second game against GRC, Bella Nagelkirk had an incredible 7 point serve comeback with an all-around effort from her teammates, capturing the second game 29-27 and advancing to a third game. The girls finalized the match against GRC after a 15-9 victory in the third game. Although the girls took the first game against Forest Hills Central 25-18, they fell short 17-25 and 10-15 in the second and third games, losing the overall match. Along with another tough battle against Hudsonville losing 16-25 and 11-25 in two games.
