SOUTH HAVEN HIGH SCHOOL: 8
The UC JV Softball team won the Otsego JV Softball tournament on Saturday, beating a tough South Haven team in the final.
UC and South Haven traded the lead back and forth on Saturday, but eventually Unity prevailed 19-8. UC took the lead for good in the fifth inning. The game was tied at eight when Emily Leegwater singled to drive in a run.
The Crusaders were helped by a big 7th inning at the plate scoring 6 runs on 7 hits with no strikeouts.
It was a great day with everyone doing their part to stay positive and stay focused. The Crusaders hope to continue the strong weekend performance when they play a double header against Zeeland West at home on Tuesday.
