The Crusaders JV Softball team picked up their first win of the season against a young East Kentwood team. Ginny VanManen pitched a solid game on the mound, allowing just one hit. She was helped by an explosive day at the plate with a season high 12 hits for the team. VanManen helped her own cause by hitting her first home run of her high school career with a 3 run shot in the bottom of the 4th. Hailey Koetje had a great outing going 2 for 2. Suchecki had a stellar day at the dish, going 3 for 3 with 2 RBI. Overall it was a great team effort to get the season going on the right foot.
The Crusaders play again Friday at Reeths-Puffer.
