On Tuesday Night, Unity Christian Varsity Softball travelled to Fruitport in a league doubleheader. Unity won both behind strong pitching from Makenzie Cammenga & Madeline Dykhouse. In game 1 Makenzie struck out 7 Fruitport batters only giving up 1 earned runs. In game 2, Makenzie got the start and Win in the circle. Madeline Dykhouse came in the game and threw one shutout inning. In all, 11 different Unity batters had base hits on the evening, led by Sydney Overweg with 6, and Paige Rylaarsdam & Bella Duimstra with 5 hits each. Paige also collected her 1st HR on the season. Unity Christian Varsity Softball will next be in action on Wednesday at home against Byron Center in a non-conference DH.
