On Monday, Unity Christian Varsity Softball travelled crosstown to take on the State Ranked 3rd place Wildcats from Jenison. Unity split on the day, winning game 1 behind dominant hitting and great pitching from Makenzie Cammenga. Makenzie struckout 9 of the powerful Jenison batters, only giving up 5 hits and 1 earned run to claim the victory. In game 2 Madeline Dykhouse pitched a great game but, a couple errors opening the scoring late. Unity hitters hit the ball hard in both games, but unfortunately right at the Jenison players. Unity tallied 13 hits on the day, led by Sydney Overweg, Paige Rylaarsdam, Molly Versluis, and Bella Duimstra with two hits each. Brooklyn Overweg and Bella both had triples on the evening. Unity Christian Varsity Softball will next be in action on Tuesday at Home to continue conference play against Coopersville.
