On Saturday, Unity Christian Varsity Softball travelled to Stevensville Lakeshore to play in the Lakeshore Invite. Unity went 1-2 on the day, but the record does not show on how well the team played! Makenzie Cammenga got the win in game 1, going 7 innings and striking out 11 and only giving up one earned run. In Game 2 Madeline Dykhouse got the start and went 6 innings giving up 5 runs. In game 3 Cammenga got the start again vs the #1 ranked team in the State and 19th ranked team in the Country. Unity battled, but fell short in the contest. On the Day, Bella Duimstra had a great day at the plate, going 6-9 with 3 doubles. Paige Rylaarsdam had 4 hits, Molly Versluis had 3 and Makenzie Cammenga had 2. Unity Christian Varsity Softball will next be in action on Tuesday to open our home schedule against league opponent, West Catholic.
