On Tuesday, Unity Christian Varsity Softball travelled to Spring Lake to open conference play with a doubleheader. Unity won both games by scores of 18-1 & 15-2. Makenzie Cammenga started both games and collected the win in both games. Makenzie struckout 6 batters in the 1st game and collected 11 K’s in the 2nd game. Madeline Dykhouse came on in relief in game one and tossed 4 innings, giving up only 2 hits and striking out 5 Laker batters. Unity bats collected 13 hits in game one led by Autumn Meinzer and Bella Duimstra with 3 each. In game 2 Unity again collect double digit hits with 12, led by Bella Duimstra, Paige Rylaarsdam, and Makenzie Cammenga. Unity Christian Varsity will next be in action on Saturday at the Stevensville Lakeshore Invite.
