UC Varsity Softball competed in the Blue Chip Softball High School Invitational on Saturday going 3-0 on the day to win the Championship in our division. Although at times the weather was raining, that did not bother the Unity hitters as they accumulated 39 hits on the day in scoring double digit runs in all games defeating Lowell Red Arrows 14-7, Parchment Panthers 11-0, & Plymouth HS 10-0 in the championship game. Unity also hit 6 Home Runs on the day. Natalie Bush & Allie Lubben both had 2 HR’s, and Kaylee Vander Veen & Tory Decker also went deep. Winning Pitchers were Kaylee Vander Veen, Mackenzie Cammenga, & Allie Lubben. Unity will next be in action on Monday taking on State Ranked Muskegon Oakridge.
