UC Varsity Softball took on Coopersville in a battle for 1^st place in the OK Blue.  Coopersville came into the game leading the conference with 9-1 record and Unity was 8-2.  Unity came out on top as they swept Coopersville on Tuesday evening to take over the top spot.  In game 1, Allie Lubben was credited with the win.  She pitched 5 innings and only allowed 4 hits on the night.  Mackenzie Cammenga came on in relief the last two innings to preserve the victory, striking out 4.  Unity racked up 6 hits in game 1.  Natalie Bush led the charge with 2 hits.  In game 2, the Unity bats came to life, as they scored 7 runs in the 1^st inning, and Coopersville was never able to mount a comeback.  Kaylee VanderVeen kept the Coopersville bats quiet as she allowed only 2 hits in 3 innings of work to get the Win.  Mackenzie Cammenga came in relief again in game 2 to preserve the win.  In game 2, Unity was able to record 19 hits as 7 Unity players had multiple hits.  Tory Decker, Olivia Miller, & Natalie Bush all hit Home Runs on the night.  Natalie Bush now takes over 1^st place in HR’s in a Season, breaking the Unity record with 10 so far this year.
