SOUTH CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL: 2
UC Varsity Softball took on South Christian on Friday Night in a doubleheader. Unity was able to move to 21-5 in sweeping South Christian both games. In game 1, Unity won 15-2 with 11 hits. Natalie Bush led the team with 3 hits and Molly Versluis drove in 4 runs on 2 hits. Olivia Miller also had 2 hits in game 1. Allie Lubben was credited with the win, going 6 innings with one earned run and 6 K’s. In game two, Unity won 6-2 and was able to manage 13 hits. Julia Bremer and Ashley Veldheer led the hitting barrage, both going 3 for 3 in game two. Kaylee VanderVeen also had two hits. Kaylee also was the winning pitcher, going 7 strong innings, giving up 2 earned runs and had 3 K’s on the night. Unity will be back in action on Tuesday against conference foe Coopersville in doubleheader action.
