UC Varsity Softball won two games against Spring Lake on Wednesday Afternoon.  The bats were booming again as Unity had 14 hits in game 1 & 12 hits in game 2.  Unity hit 4 HR’s on the day.  One each by Tory Decker, Olivia Miller, Natalie Bush, & Allie Lubben.  Natalie had 4 hits in game 1, Tory Decker had 3 hits and Ashley Veldheer had 2 to lead the charge.  Kaylee Vander Veen got the win in the circle, only giving up 3 hits in 5 innings of work.  MacKenzie Cammenga came on in the 6^th inning and recording the last 6 inning, striking out 5 of the batters.  In game 2, Unity got out to a quick 5-1 lead, but Spring Lake was able to tie the game up in the bottom of the 4^th at 5’s a piece.  However, Unity bats responded and got 2 more runs in the 5^th, 6^th, & 7^th innings to close our the game, winning 11-5.  Allie Lubben started in the circle and Mackenzie Cammenga came on in relief to record the win.  Unity will be back in action on Thursday afternoon at Home, hosting the Byron Center Bulldogs.
