UC Varsity Softball won two games against State Ranked Calvin Christian team on Thursday. Allie Lubben gets the win in game win and Freshman Mackenzie Cammenga gets her 1^st Varsity win in the nightcap.  In Game 1 Unity was able to able to pound out 9 hits against a very talented All State Pitcher from Calvin Christian.  Tory Decker led the way with 3 hits and Freshman Molly Versluis & Natalie Bush both hit Home Runs.  It was Natalie’s 7 HR on the season.  In Game two Kaylee Vander Veen got the start and only gave up 1 Earned Run in 4 innings of work.  Then Freshman Mackenzie Cammenga came on to finish the game.  The game was tied after 7 innings, so we had to go to the International Tie Break.  Unity was able to score 2 in the top of the 8^th and Mackenzie shut the Calvin Christian bats down in the bottom of the 8^th to record her 1^st Varsity victory.  Unity had 13 hits the 2^nd game led by Olivia Miller with 3 and Ashley Veldheer with 2.  Kaylee Vander Veen also hit her 2^nd home run of the season in game 2.  Unity Christian will next be in action on Tuesday, May 3^rd at Spring Lake for a conference doubleheader.
