ZEELAND WEST HIGH SCHOOL: 0
Unity Christian defeated Zeeland West on Thursday night by a score of 10-0. Kaylee VanderVeen was the winning pitcher, throwing 4 strong innings, zero runs, 2 hits, and 8 strikeouts. Mackenzie Cammenga come on relief in the 5th to complete the game. Kenzie struck out the side in the bottom of the 5th to preserve the win. Unity’s bats were strong as they collected 12 hits on the day. Several players had multiple hits, led by Ashley Veldheer with 3, Tory Decker with 2, Natalie Bush with 2, and Kaylee VanderVeen with 2. Natalie also had 2 rbi on the night. Unity will next be in action at home on Tuesday, April 18th against conference foe Allendale.
