On Friday June 16 the Unity Girls Soccer capped off a historic tournament run with a 3-0 win in the State Final over Grosse Ile. Grosse Ile came out with a very defensive scheme that kept the Crusaders off the scoreboard until Stella DeSmit broke the ice with a goal off an Emily Timmer assist. Even though they were down a goal at halftime the Red Devils continue to defend, but to no avail as Brianna Rose and Jenna Schreiber each scored with Ava Lutke and DeSmit earning assists. Grosse Ile rarely threatened the Crusaders goal allowing the UC defenders to push up and get involved in the offensive attack while still posting yet another shut out in thee 3-0 win. During the State Tournament the Crusaders outscored their opponents 35-0 earning the program's 11th State Title.
