On a beautiful Friday night for soccer the Crusaders welcomed the Lakers of Spring Lake to town. Unity led 1-0 at halftime on a Grace Visser Free Kick. The Lakers came out strong to start the 2nd half and got the equalizer about 10 minutes into the half. The two teams went toe to toe for the next 18 minutes until Alaina VanZalen passed to a wide open Karley Michmerhuizen in front ot the goal and she calmly placed her shot past the keeper for the go ahead goal. Just 3 minutes later a Grace Visser pass found Kisa Seerveld behind the defense for an insurance goal. Although stretched by the quick and aggressive Laker forwards the UC defense played tough to the end and secured a hard fought 3-1 win.
