Another nice night for football overcast skies under the lights brought a new experience for the guys. We were able to move the football, but had drives stalled by penalty or fumble. The two teams were evenly matched, but Comstock Park owned the first three quarters. Unity was able to make it close with under 4:30 to go, trailing 20-0 Corbin Deboer was able to break off a long run making the game 20-8. On the assuming Kickoff John Fuentes kick a great onside kick that was recovered in Comstock park territory. A few plays later Austin Schuiteman was able to break a long run making the score 20-14 with just over 2 minutes remaining. The assuming onside kick failed, but 2 plays later Hayden Large stepped in front of a pass for an interception. Giving us a chance, but the Comstock Park D stood tough and we turned the ball over on downs. An exciting game one that we will learn and grow from.
