In a match that almost gave the coach a heart attack, the boys defeated Grand Rapids Christian 17.5 - 12.5
Leading 13.5 - 5.5 going into the final regular game, the boys needed only 2 points to take the match. Leading overall total by 52 pins, it seemed pretty safe that they would get those 2 points. But GR had other ideas. They took the first 3 individual points and were leading total in the game by almost 60 pins. The 4th point was not a done deal at that point. However, Kurtis Montsma threw 2 strikes and a 9 count to take the 4th point to finish with a 204 for the game. He defeated his opponent by only 7 pins, but it cemented the victory. Landon Vos added the nail in the coffin by throwing an excellent 223 game to put the game out of reach.
