In a battle of 2 defending state champions, the Saders lost 2-1 to Grand Rapids Christian. The two teams remained deadlocked for the first 73 minutes. Unity generated quality chances but couldn't put them away. The last 7 minutes proved to be very eventful with the eagles striking first. The lead was short lived, however, as Unity buried a pk only a minute later. The craziness continued when one minute later, the Eagles capitalized on a pk for a Unity handball in the box. Unity pushed forward to try and get an equalizer in the final 4 minutes, but GRC kept them out.
