The girls entered the tournament 1-1/2 points ahead of West Catholic. This gave them a little breathing room to be able to capture the conference championship. All they needed to do was finish within 1 place of West to win the conference. The girls had mostly an average day. Alaynah Venlet led the 1st game with a 161. Jaydan Blouw led the last 2 games with games of 162 and 186. The girls were in 2nd after the regular games behind West by too many to have a serious shot at catching them. But they did have a good lead on 3rd and 4th place so they were in the position they needed to be in to win the championship. In the end they took second place in the tournament behind West Catholic, but the gave them the conference championship by a 1/2 point. The all tournament team announcements were next and we were pleasantly surprised. Emery Burdick placed 10th. Alaynah Venlet placed 9th. Jaydan Blouw placed in a tie for 3rd. All conference team was announced as well. The conference champs were well represented there as well. Honorable mention went to Emery Burdick, Alaynah Venlet and Sarah Cremer for finishing 13th, 12th and 11th in average for the conference. The all conference team saw Jaydan Blouw taking 3rd place. The girls had a great day on Friday. I was incredibly proud and can't wait to see the new trophy sitting in the case at Unity next year.
